Biography

Orsome Welles' music defies any typical classification. An unconventional merge of progressive and heavy, overlaid with an early 20th century style; pounding grooves with a great feel for dynamics and variation, infused with old industrial chic.

The group's ferociously powerful live approach in tandem with the soulful, soaring vocals of enigmatic frontman, Michael Stowers, is a sight to behold.

Their avant-garde show has garnered praise from luminaries of the international progressive heavy scene, and has seen them support the likes of Orphaned Land (Israel) and The Ocean (Germany) and Australia's Ne Obliviscaris, Voyager and Caligula's Horse. In addition, Orsome Welles have been hand-picked to perform at noteworthy local festivals such as Progfest 2013-2014 and Heavy Mag's Brewtality 2014.

In December 2014, Orsome Welles launched their highly anticipated debut EP Erth News Bulletin with great success. A monumental crowd crammed into The Workers Club, it was truly a night to remember.

Orsome Welles have gone from strength to strength in recent times. With their follow-up sophomore release and further national touring on the near horizon, this thrilling five-piece are destined for bigger things to come.
